Ok, since I just installed the latest update of Steam,(2 updates after goldsrc fuck up), I cant host my dedicated server on ANYTHING. And besides that, I cant even join servers! It always freezes up on the "Verifying Game Resources" or something part. Anyone know how to fix this?

My Thought: I think Steam is starting to fuck up their own system, since they want Source Games better.

your gonna have to delete every thing in your steam directory
EXCEPT
steam.exe and steamapps-folder
then run steam.exe
and then reinstall hl
it should work fine after that
if had to do that like 20 times
its so annoying

[EDIT]WRAGGLE! IT WONT WORK! And i think i know whats the problem. I used my steam account on two computers, I need a Half-Life update in order for it to work and stuff. But it wont let me Auto-Update it. It gave me a Half-Life update when i used it on my other computer.[/EDIT]

try deleting your half-life and platform gcf's and reinstall hl.

Hmm, Remove only the Half-Life GCF and the half-life folder? or remove all gcf and folder.

Now, to add to that, I'm gonna say that my HLDS(Steam) isn't working for some reason. The Loading box doesn't show up. And even IF i leave it alone, it still wont start. How can I fix this? Sorry for the triple post but I need to know how to fix.

super anti-spyware
and others
just google it

Well, if i remove the whole dedicated server folder, and then reinstall hlds, it works, but the server doesn't show. Then i used the HLDS Update tool, and when i try again, the loading box doesn't show. I dont know why the update tool screwed it up.
