Issue 1: (More might come later, I don't know) "Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?". It's BS. We all know this show is ****. But, yesterday's episode pretty much confirmed it. I tuned in for the last 20 minutes of yesterday's episode. The unfortunate victim(contestant) was an astronaut. To date, there have been only about 321 astronauts selected by NASA. And for good reason, too. Take a look at some active astronaut's biographies. http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/astrobio_activemgmt.htmlNow, take a look at Robert Gibsun's biography. http://www.jsc.nasa.gov/Bios/htmlbios/gibson.htmlI mean, it's like OF COURSE THIS GUY CAN WIN. He passed through every single question like they were 1+1, without any cheats, only to get to this question. "How many common factors do the numbers 28 and 32 share?" How unfair is this. There are 2 logical answers, and it is because every school teaches this a different way. You could either include 1 in your answer and say that there are 3 factors, or not, because some people say that you don't have to include 1. So this show makes this astronaut look stupid because he's right? Wow. You know what? I can probably bet that if he said 3, the "real" answer would be 2. While all questions 4th through 1st grade make sense, the 5th grade questions do NOT. Whatsoever. I mean, I'm in 8th grade. I know what I learned in 5th. And it WASN'T something like, "What element do you combine with carbon to make basic steel?" No, I learned that in 6th. I think changing the show's name to "Are you Smarter than an Extremely Gifted 5th Grader in an Accelerated Learning Program?" would make more sense. But that would sound stupid, wouldn't it? EDIT: LOL, even Fox's own forums are going berserk over this. http://forums.fox.com/foxsmarter/start

We all know Vista is ****.
However, this "experiment" is not the way that Microsoft should be going about promoting its ****ware. A test that would have yielded more accurate results could have been asking people who used Vista before to test "Mojave", a copy of Vista with a different UI. That wouldn't be really hard to make, either.
1. Windows selected only people who never used Vista before. 2. The real problems with this OS are the ones that come with time. You can't just find every single problem just by looking at it. 3. Microsoft completely controlled the test environment. For more accurate results, they could have had people bring in their own laptops, and run Vista-Mojave from a CD. Oh wait, there's nothing to stop Microsoft from tweaking the CD, either. And, surprise, surprise, a Microsoft guy was the person guiding the mouse, not the guest. Most importantly, however, Microsoft got to choose which videos to slap onto their hard-to-navigate website.
If you asked me how I wanted to conduct this, it would have been -above all else- fair and reassuring. 1. Bring in anyone as a guest, even if they have used Vista before. 2. The guest would provide their own computer. 3. The OS they would be looking at would be straight-out-of-the-box, or if that's not possible, let them see that you're loading a straight-out-of-the-box copy onto an external hard drive and let them boot from that. 4. Guide them through the features you want the guest to see, and then give them all the time they want to do whatever they want on the computer, obviously, besides install malware. There has to be some restrictions, after all. Let them bring their own software, download their own free-to-play games, only to find out THEY DON'T WORK. 5. After the guest finishes, let them say what they thought about the OS, and then reveal that it is really Vista. 6. Post every video taken of each guest, regardless of what they said about the OS.
Of course, since the thing Microsoft is really trying to do here is revive a load of crud, they couldn't really afford to do the above.

I'm funny? Well, I wasn't typing these with humor in mind, but thanks.
And yes, I totally agree that school is also BS. I mean, of course you're going to use Earth History and Shakespeare while designing a video game, or some other piece of software.

Seconded. WarRock comes first though, but I'll still do Hip-Hop/Pop since people seem to hate that too. Off-topic: NinjaBunny, I see you on the forums... I'm logging on to CA as I speak. Hope to see you in-game!
