If im correct, they do bloody nothing and are just a waste of time. Most servers with the stats thing reward them to players who are doing good while playing, and take them away. Some are very strict on their rules with them, or just dont bother with them, and this server just dosent bother with them.

the only thing they do is up your hp armor and anti grav a little.

The advantages are negligible. And by negligible, I mean negligible. Medals are-for the most part-for cosmetic value only.

personally, im not 100% sure what they do, but what this website says is basically that it adds a small bonus to all your other skills, kind of a weaker version of awareness http://sc.multiplay.co.uk/xp-faq.php
