As most of us may know there is someone hacking other people's steam acc's by making them go to a website. As those people who recieved the link to it and start to hate them, it's really the hacker thats sending it. I got 2 messages today from one person in a group and another from R_Dog who was hacked as well I would persume. Don't trust anyone who sends a link that says like "freecommunity" because then you'll get hacked. Don't talk to the person sending it. Don't even look at his name. Don't get hacked. |

I got that link sent to by 3 people yesterday, including r_dogg and poisen headcrab. I never click on links like that anyway, as it definitely looks suspicious. |

There's other ways. You can get it stolen from getting infected by a key logger virus. Also from packet sniffers on insecure wireless networks. |

That's what they do basically, they work on hub based networks, where data from one machine is sent to all other ports on the hub(wired hub, wireless is the same way in a ways.). A packet sniffer silently accepts packets meant for other computers, depending on how steams sends your password to their servers they can steal it that way, the only way they can't steal it that way is if steam encrypts your password before sending to their servers or uses a secure connection, like what you would get visiting a https:// website. |

I also got that message too, didn't click the link, I never click random link if its not put into during the middle of a conversation. After not clicking on the link from poison headcrab the person sent me a friends request immediately afterward. |
