Im pretty sure im not the only one whos noticed, but all the games are going FPS on us, and are becoming a lot less creative. For the FPS thing, at least every other game i see that is played is an FPS, and almost all of them rip off Halo like mad. And some games that wernt shooters to begin with are becoming now (Fallout series for example). Most of the games either involve being soldier shooting nazis in WWII (i almost celebrated when i learned CoD4 was going to be modern, and was [pissed when i learned CoD:WaW was going to be in bad ol' WWII), or in a futruistic wasteland fighting just to live (Resistance, Halo, etc). I miss when games were more creative. Also, publishers take very few risks of trying something new, and just rip off Halo's elements which are garuenteed to please the modern dumbass gamer, and indie games just don't have enough impact, even though they can make amazing games (Psychonauts, Painkiller, Audiosurf, etc.) Maybe im the only one who gets pissed off with this stuff, but its just annoying. Back in the 8-bit era, games were more creative and entertaining, when full 3D games came out, some were still creative but were getting sale, now, when you look at the back of a box you either go "Whoop a dee do, another FPS about space marines or WWII." Before i get yelled out for saying all games are uncreative (which i didn't) some are still creative. The Price of Persia series for example. The Sands of Time is one of my favorite games, and it didn't really rip off anything. Warrior Withen and Two Thrones were the same. The new PoP just looks werid, and dosent even remind me remotley of ancient Persia. Anyone else get pissed about this shit? |

I don't think this is the case. Rather, developers are getting to know how to make a better shooter. Also, where was LBP in your rant? |

You can't really say they're ripping off Halo. And besides, you're not looking at the big picture. You just seem to notice FPSes more. Fallout was originally an FPS, to a sense. It was all about shooting and killing, as well as making your own choices etc. Second, There's a LOT of genres out there. Sure, there may not be many coming out NOW, but you wait and see. For example, what about Halflife making an SRPG? Ever thought of that? What about the newer games for the Wii? I see anything BUT FPSes going on that system (And it's not because of the controller, it functions like all the others. RE4 is a testament to this). It's true, a lot of FPSes are coming out right now, but as I said, just you wait. |
